Def Leppard to Release Concert Film

When Def Leppard wrapped the final show of their massive North American tour in Cedar Rapids back in October, it brought to a close an extraordinarily busy, and extremely successful 12 months for the band.

Since releasing their brilliant self-titled album last October, Joe Elliott and the guys have been blowing away audiences with their electrifying live performances all over the world. And if you were lucky enough to catch one of these shows – as we were – you would have enjoyed a hugely memorable night of rock music.

Quite apart from giving us the opportunity to hear their iconic anthems played live once again, these shows also showcased just how good Def Leppard’s new material is. Arguably their best since their Hysteria and Pyromania heyday.

The band have announced the release a new concert film And There Will Be A Next Time – Live From Detroit on DVD, Blu-ray and double CD. Filmed at the DTE Energy Music Theatre in Clarkston, the film shows Def Leppard at their legendary best.

“I had this idea that we should film one of the shows from the 2016 tour because apart from the ‘Viva Hysteria’ shows, we hadn’t actually had a live performance filmed since 1988. With a new album out that was being so well received, it was just a case of where to do it. From the second the house lights went down, we could see the sun setting from the stage, and the energy from the crowd just seemed to intensify. It was a good choice and a great way to document Def Leppard in 2016.” Joe Elliott

There are rumours that the band will begin touring again in spring 2017, and we’ll obviously bring you details as soon as they become available.  In the meantime, And There Will Be A Next Time – Live From Detroit will tide us over!
