Midstock Festival Preview
So, looking ahead to September. The summer is almost over and the festival season is done and dusted for another year…
Not quite! Because we still have the Midstock Festival at Dalkieth Country Park on Saturday 12th. Building on the success of last year’s inaugural event, the organisers have pulled together another strong lineup to see out the summer with a bang.
Although The Fratellis are headlining the event and will no doubt have the audience absolutely bouncing with songs such as ‘Chelsea Dagger’, the highlight of the lineup for me has got to be Fish. He has just embarked on his 30th Anniversary ‘Misplaced Childhood’ Tour and is only playing 2 outdoor festivals this year. The big man is hanging up his mike next year, so opportunities to see him live are going to dry up very quickly, very soon. Best of all, I understand he’ll be playing ‘Misplaced Childhood’ in it’s entirety.
So, to summarise: Fish playing the album which catapulted himself and Marillion to stardom, in it’s entirety, onstage at a music festival in his hometown for the first (and probably final) time. That’s gonna be special!
