The Family Stone LIVE at the O2 ABC Glasgow Sunday 28 June

It’s pretty difficult to overstate how much an impact Sly and the Family Stone made when they first burst onto the scene in 1967 and how much of an influence they have had on the development of soul and funk music in the years since. From their first No.1 hit ‘Every Day People’ and and the funk classic ‘Dance to the Music’ they have a back catalogue of legendary songs to rival any artist or band.

And they have a show at the O2 ABC Glasgow this Sunday! There are still three of the original members of the band in today’s lineup and without question are going to put on a really good show.

Supporting the headliners are James Brown is Annie.  I was lucky enough to see the Edinburgh-based funksters when they supported Average White Band during a recent tour. You don’t get to support a band like AWB unless you are very good.  JBiA are VERY good indeed!
