Intro: Highly Suspect

Serotonia

Available now on iTunes

Thought that I’d round off the week with a little introduction to a band who you may not have come across yet. Or maybe you have, and I’m just slow off the mark! Highly Suspect are a 3-piece rock outfit hailing from Cape Cod, who released their Grammy-nominated debut album Mister Asylum last year and have recently completed what was a highly successful first UK tour.

They have just released a video for new song ‘Serotonia’ which was shot between New York and LA and portrays lead singer Johnny Stevens’ internal conflict between his loves of the two cities. Serotonia is a fusion of the words Serotonin and California and describes the powerful feeling of joy Stevens gets whenever he’s under the sun.

The song itself has a nice vibe, it has a great hook and there’s plenty of dirty sounding guitars driving things along. It’s a stand-alone track the band wanted to share with fans after the success of Mister Asylum, and we like it a lot.

The band clearly enjoyed themselves while they were over here, because they’ve just announced that they’ll be back in the UK to join the likes of Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Biffy Clyro at the Reading & Leeds Festival this August. Speaking on the eve of the announcement the band said “Coming to the UK was some of the best shit that ever happened to us. Can’t believe we get to come back again so soon and play at such an incredible festival. Pumped.”

So check out the video below and drop by their Facebook page to show these guys some love.
