Saturday 3 September

The organisers of The Midstock Festival have just announced the lineup for this years event. And once again they have pulled together a really strong lineup of artists and bands to see out the summer in style.

Topping the lineup at the beautiful Dakieth Country Park venue this year the are million-selling pop-rockers Scouting For Girls. We reviewed the band last year at Party at the Palace and I have to say that they were absolutely brilliant. It was one of those occasions when a band gloriously blew away any preconceived ideas you may have had about them and kicked an almighty hole in the sky in the process.

“We’re delighted to be headlining Midstock Festival this year. Any Scottish audiences are great but we hear this one likes to party and we’re all set to rock the place! It’s going to be a great day and we look forward to playing in such a fantastic setting too. See you all there!” – Scouting For Girls

I was about to talk about Reverend and the Makers and The Pigeon Detectives because they will both, undoubtably, be fantastic.  However I’ve just been distracted by Animals and Friends. That’s not a name that immediately rang any bells, so after a little bit of Googling I now know that the band is made up of former members of The Animals, including founding member John Steel. Now THAT name DOES ring bells! What a cool addition to the lineup that is.

An important part of the festival’s policy is to support the Scottish music scene and the local communities of the Lothians in particular, so as ever, local performers also feature. This year Jack Robertson and Caitlyn Robertson get their chance to shine on the big stage. So if you are going along, make sure you get there early enough to give your support.

Check out the ticketing info at the link below and grab a ticket or two while you can. Remember! Midstock is family friendly, so you can bring along the kids and play in the fairground while they watch the gig – hooray!!!

decibelROGUE will be giving you the chance to win a pair of tickets to this brilliant festival, so stay tuned for further details in the coming weeks!
