Ian Hunter UK Tour
The word legend is often applied a little too liberally in features about artists and bands in the music world. And of course there are plenty of properly egotistical artists out there who are more than happy to describe themselves as such without fawning media people doing it for them. But every so often you get to talk about someone who absolutely befits that status. Someone like Ian Hunter, for example.
As lead singer of 70’s rock giants Mott the Hoople and subsequently as a solo artist, Ian Hunter has become one of rocks’ most influential and enduring performers. Over the years he has written anthems such as All The Way From Memphis, Once Bitten, Twice Shy and Cleveland Rocks. And most notably, he was of course the voice of the iconic David Bowie-penned All The Young Dudes. How many people has his music influenced and inspired? How long’s a piece of string…
Hunter released his latest album Fingers Crossed back in September and it contains ten new songs covering typically wide-ranging subject matters. It also includes his much-anticipated homage to David Bowie, Dandy. Recorded at HOBO Studios in New Jersey, and co-produced by Hunter and Andy York, the record features his magnificent Rant Band and is the follow-up to 2012’s acclaimed When I’m President.
Hunter has been touring the US with his Rant Band to rave reviews, and will be landing in the UK in November for an 8 date tour. If you’re a music fan of any kind, you really should check out the dates below and grab yourself a ticket while you still can, because Ian Hunter is one of those kind of artists you need to see live.
decibelROGUE will be at one of the shows to bring you a full review and gallery of photographs, so check back for that. But we hope to see you down the front!
